Philippians 4:8 ESV
8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

In his letter to the Philippians, Paul plants the seeds of the power of positive core values.

  • Truth
  • Honor
  • Justice
  • Purity
  • Beauty
  • Excellence
  • Praiseworthy

And more importantly he teaches us to meditate on these values to prepare for a bountiful harvest.

Remember how grandma always said, “Be careful what you ask for you will get it.” Or how your older sister would knock you down to the ground and pin you there with her knees and say, “You asked for it.”

Paul reminds us that we get what we ask for?

So we want to keep our minds set on the things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and praiseworthy.
