I Am Deeply Troubled Lord

David in Psalm 116 declares, “I am deeply troubled, Lord.”
I am confident that if your life is like mine everything is not sunshine and lollipops all the time.
Just yesterday, I ran across one of those opportunities.
It was Saturday, the weekend right? But here on the farm weekends don’t exist? At least not in the traditional sense.
And the cows needed to be moved to a fresh pasture and the fence needed to be tested and repaired before the cows could be moved.
So I had my plan, get the fence tested and repaired and move the cows. Just get the job completed.
When my wife calls to say that our daughter wants us to come to town to play with the grandchildren at the water park and amusement center. Sounds like fun.
But fun, is not in my vocabulary. When I was a kid, fun was learning a new way to do a farm job. Maybe it was stacking square wheat straw bales in the big barn? Or maybe it was just having the day to spend on the tractor by myself working the ground and listening to the Minnesota…
