“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬

Ahh! It is finally quiet.

I can get something accomplished. Or. . .

I can get some rest. Or. . .

How do I avoid this conflict in the future?

Peace is often a fleeting thing, especially in a house full of young children. Or a competitive workplace. Peace can be hard to accomplish.

Why do we desire Peace?

My desire to have peace in my life is directly linked to many of my adventures into bad habits and addictions.

Alcohol was one of my most favorite addictions. I would consume until it was all gone. I was hoping that the pain and conflict would go down the toilet with the pee.

It didn’t go away. The pain and the conflict amplified by the hangover stayed with me like the empty cans and bottles.

Nicotine was one of my disgusting addictions. I loved the rush I got from chewing tobacco or smoking a cigarette. I was a mess when I ran out (which I rarely if ever did).
