Self-Control

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control.

Discipline and Patience

My friend and mentor, Glen Ring, titled his first newsletter “Patience and Discipline”. It was about having the Patience to wait until the market “told” you which way it wanted to go. And then having the Discipline to take action.

I am grateful that God blesses me with the Spiritual fruit of self-control. I know that with out God’s work in me, through the Spirit, that I have little or no self-control.

As it says in the picture for today, Philippians 2:13, I am grateful that God has designed work and habits for me to follow that bring Him glory.

Cause, unlike you, when I don’t follow His path for me. I usually end up falling on my face. I have tried it, sometime I have enjoyed some fleeting good feelings, and some minor success. But then, BOOM! Me feet fly right out from underneath me.

When I surrender to God’s path, He uses the Spirit’s fruits to keep me moving forward. Providing me with “both the desire and the work to fulfill His good purpose.”

Until next time. . .
