Why You Desire to Let the Spirit Guide You
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
Why should you desire the Spirit Guide to lead you?
Map? I don’t need a map! Just tell me the landmarks and point me in the right direction. I will find you.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to read maps or instructions. I am an old man, I have lots of experience getting from one place to another. I will just keep an eye on the compass and read the signs.
After all, it’s just like a puzzle or a maze. Right? Right?
But then, my bride of 40 some years reminds me, you paid a high price for that map app on your phone and you remember that time when you didn’t follow Siri’s directions and we ended up 2 hours late to our destination. Right?
God has blessed me greatly with a bride to remind me that I am a sinner who needs constant forgiveness and guidance. Because by myself I can get so lost but with the Spirit Guide nothing is impossible.
So, I bow my head and ask God to renew His Spirit within me. And then, I open the maps app on the phone to ask Siri how to get to New Haven.
