You know better than to try that? Again?
Remember how your mother or father would ask you that as you stood on top of the kitchen table?
Or perhaps when you were lying on the kitchen floor crying because you fell off the chair while trying to get in to the cookie jar or candy cupboard?
Usually our feelings were injured more than our bodies. And that pain is the reminder not to try that again.
Next time I will ask first or use a better step stool. Lesson learned.
Peter encourages us in today’s lesson to learn from our lessons and to overcome those desires that will do us harm.
